Attire

Our evening draws inspiration from Victorian gothic romance and the ethereal nature of the redwoods. We invite you to dress in moody romantic tones — examples include, but are not limited to: black, smoke gray, forest green, fig plum, blood red, espresso, fawn, and burnt umber.

Creative styling is encouraged — antique jewelry, gloves, ribbons, lace, boots, and unusual textures are welcome. Please avoid bright/neon colors, as you may attract unsavory spirits. Comfortable footwear is recommended.

Travel Notes

VENUE

Waterfall Lodge & Retreat

325 Hidden Falls Trail, Ben Lomond, CA 95005, USA

Nestled deep in the redwoods, Waterfall Lodge has been home to many beautiful wedding celebrations. The bride and groom are excited to host you — though recently, there have been a few strange reports of curious and unusual activity in the area…

JOURNEY

Recommended airport: The most convenient airport to fly into is San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC). The airport is about a 35-45 minute drive from the wedding venue.

Other options: San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Oakland (OAK), and Monterey (MRY)

TRANSPORTATION

Because Waterfall Lodge is tucked into the Santa Cruz redwoods, we recommend renting a car or coordinating transportation to get around the area. A shuttle will be provided on the day of the wedding at the Hilton Scotts Valley and La Bahia Hotel to transport guests to and from the wedding venue. We do not recommend driving to the wedding venue as onsite parking is very limited.

LODGING

We recommend staying in Scotts Valley for the easiest wedding transportation or Santa Cruz for a more coastal weekend stay. Our two main shuttle pickup locations will be the Hilton Scotts Valley and the La Bahia Hotel & Spa. Please see section below for a list of recommended hotels.

Rest & Repose

LA BAHIA HOTEL & SPA

215 Beach St, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

The bride and groom will be staying here. Located by Santa Cruz’s main beach, La Bahia is a beautiful option for guests who want to make a full weekend out of the trip. With its coastal setting, dining, and spa/wellness offerings, this is an elevated hotel option for guests who want to stay near the beach and enjoy Santa Cruz. Shuttle service to the venue will be provided from this hotel.

HILTON SANTA CRUZ/SCOTTS VALLEY

6001 La Madrona Dr, Santa Cruz, CA 95060

Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley is a practical and comfortable option for guests who prefer to stay closer to the redwoods. This is an excellent choice for guests who want a simple wedding home base. Shuttle service to the venue will be provided from this hotel.

CHAMINADE RESORT & SPA

1 Chaminade Ln, Santa Cruz, CA 95065

An elevated mountain resort option set in the Santa Cruz hills. Chaminade is a great choice for guests who prefer a quieter, more retreat-like stay while being a short drive from Santa Cruz.

Registry

Lyvian and Will are grateful to have you with them as they celebrate. Following Chinese and Vietnamese tradition, the bride and groom will not be creating a traditional gift registry.

Your presence at the wedding is already the best gift we could ask for, but if you'd still like to give a gift, we'd warmly appreciate a red envelope or monetary contribution. A card box will be available at the wedding. Digital contributions may be sent here.
